Where every figure on this domain came from

Nothing here is second hand. Each fact comes from a page published by NPCI or by the Reserve Bank, and the date it was read is written down beside it.

On this page
  1. The pages that were read, and when
  2. What each page contributed
  3. What was looked for and is not there
  4. Why the gaps are left open
  5. How long this stays accurate

The pages that were read, and when

The UPI FAQs on npci.org.in, the UPI 123PAY FAQs, and the UPI LITE overview, all on 17 September 2026. Alongside them, the circular index on the same site, and the complaints page of the Reserve Bank of India.

What each page contributed

The definition of the system, the three ways to address a payment, the rule that no beneficiary needs registering, the charges for a customer and for a merchant, the effect of changing app or SIM, and the availability outside banking hours all come from the UPI FAQs.

What was looked for and is not there

A rupee ceiling per day for ordinary UPI. A cap on the number of payments in a day. A table of limits bank by bank. A merchant fee for a credit card linked to UPI. Any rule at all, in either direction, about payments to gaming operators.

Why the gaps are left open

Because an invented figure is worse than a declared gap: a gap can be checked, an invented figure spreads. Where no published number exists, this site says so, and if one is published later it will be quoted with a date.

How long this stays accurate

Payment rules are revised by circular and without any announcement aimed at the public. A fact from September can be superseded within a quarter. That is why every figure carries the date it was read, and why your own bank’s schedule outranks any third-party page, this one included.
